It is time to set up our fabulous parent support group for 2017, Te Whānau Āwhina. In the past this group has run school fundraising events such as the fair, quiz nights, bake sales and fun events for the children like discos and movie nights. Joining this group is a wonderful way to both meet new people and support our school community.
We are meeting next week on Wednesday 10th May, 7pm in Ruma Kowhai.
We look forward to seeing many old and new faces. Come with a friend and enjoy sharing ideas both old and new and a cuppa or glass of wine.
Many hands make light work!

To Keep Our Children Safe
As part of our PE & Health programme, we teach our children not to walk behind parked cars and the safe use of footpaths.
The school car park is not a safe walking area.
From the beginning of Term 2, the gate behind the sand pit will be locked from 8.30 - 9.15am and from 2.45 - 3.15pm. Please use the footpath behind the hall.
Thank you.Posted 30 Mar
Welcome to the 2017 Winter Netball season. It is now time to register your child if they are interested in playing netball for our school this year.
Netball is offered to children in Years 2-6. All children who are interested in playing for the school are encouraged to register.
However, the number of teams we have will depend on the number of parents/ friends of the school who are able to coach.
This year the Future Ferns (Year 2, 3 and 4 teams) will be playing on Thursday afternoons, starting on Thursday 18th May and finishing on the 24th August. Games will be played at Te Pai indoor and outdoor courts. The game of netball has been modified for these year levels.
All Year 5 and 6 teams will continue to play at Te Pai on a Saturday, starting on Saturday 6th May and finishing on the 26th August.
All teams will have a practice day. The time and day for this will be determined by your child’s coach once the teams have been organised.
If your child has opted into playing for our school they must be committed to playing every game for the whole season. Please fill out this form and return to me by Wednesday 5th April. Please bring the form to Room 18.
(NO LATE FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED).
Every year we get an amazing group of parents that dedicate their time to school netball by taking on the role of coach. Without these wonderful people, netball would not be as big or as successful as it is at Kaurilands. If you are interested in coaching a team for the 2017 season please can you indicate on the form below. If you have any questions about this role I am happy to answer these.
If there are any parents that are willing to support me with coordinating and organising this sport at our school this year I would love to hear from you. If you have some time and a love for the game please send me an email or come and see me in Room 18.
We are looking forward to an exciting and competitive season in which the children will develop both their netball skills and a love for the game.
